Charm City Stories is a student-led, Baltimore-based, collaborative art magazine inspired by the field of Narrative Medicine. Through our annual publication, we aim to spread and bring awareness to the unique narratives of Baltimore natives through creative mediums.
Charm City Stories was born out of a passion for intertwining the seemingly disparate fields of Art and Medicine. Currently, there are no art ventures which focus on the illness related experiences of Baltimoreans. When our founder, Arunima Vijay became aware of this, she created Charm City Stories in an effort to encourage local student populations to reflect on their experiences with sickness and caregiving through forms of artwork. Our first annual publication is funded by the Mellon Arts Innovation grant from Johns Hopkins University which seeks to fund collaborative, community oriented art initiatives.
